Ξεπλένεται, χωρίς να αφήνει κατάλοιπα που φράζουν τους πόρους.
Τα συμβατικά σαπούνια και καθαριστικά έχουν συχνά pH πάνω από 6 που είναι πολύ αλκαλικό για το δέρμα. Προκαλούν μεγάλη αύξηση του pH στον όξινο μανδύα, στην επιφάνεια του δέρματος, που μπορεί να κρατήσει αρκετές ώρες.
