-Το Bakuchiol είναι ένα αντιοξειδωτικό και αντιφλεγμονώδες φυσικό συστατικό που εξάγεται από σπόρους bakuchiol που στοχεύει τις ρυτίδες και την γήρανση του δέρματος. Το bakuchiol είναι ένα μεροτερπένιο που εξάγεται από το φυτό babchi (Psoralea corylifolia) το οποίο απαντάται ευρέως στην ανατολική Ασία. Η Psoralea corylifolia γνωστή ως babchi είναι ένα δημοφιλές φυτό στην Αγιουρβεδική και Κινεζική ιατρική με εκπληκτικά αποτελέσματα στην θεραπεία παθήσεων του δέρματος. Κινέζοι και Ινδοί θεραπευτές έχουν χρησιμοποιήσει το Bakuchiol για την ανακούφιση δερματικών παθήσεων και την επούλωση πληγών. Το φυτό ερευνάται επίσης για τις φαρμακευτικές του ιδιότητες χημειοπροστατευτικές, αντιοξειδωτικές, αντιμικροβιακές και αντιφλεγμονώδεις. Είναι επίσης αντιοξειδωτικό, ενεργοποιεί την παραγωγή κολλαγόνου και αποτρέπει την υπεροξείδωση των λιπιδίων.
